Coffee and breast feeding

Can I have a small cup of coffee in the morning while breast feeding? I have a 5, 3 almost 4, a 1 yr, and then a 1 week old. I'm exhausted 😩 and I can't sleep during the day. My baby girl wakes every 2 hours to feed.

Yes girl have your coffee!! They say up to 300mg a day is safe while breastfeeding, but every baby is different. If yours is like mine, you may find that you need to limit it to more like 100-200 mg, and then have a cutoff time before you plan on getting them down for their nap.

God have that coffee! It's the only way I can wake up quick enough 😂. Just keep an eye on little one and if they get harder to get down for a nap then you may be drinking too much and there's too much caffeine in your supply.

I don’t risk it — my little one wakes up every 2 hours too and I don’t want to chance anything that may make her sleep worse 😔

You can have slightly more when breastfeeding than when pregnant, only 1% of caffeine is passed in the milk and it’s at the highest about 60 minutes after drinking x
