NICU time at 32 weeks?

For those of you who had babies at 32 weeks, how long was your baby in the NICU for?

Mine wasn't born at 32, altho he was the size of a 32 weeker (born at 36+3) because if a growth restriction that caused him to be 4 weeks behind in growth... he was only in there for 2 weeks....he just needed to feed & grow ... the length of time yours would need to stay would also depend most likely on why they're in there in the first place. Hopefully it's a short stay.

So my son was 31 weeks exactly. His NICU stay was 47 days. He needed oxygen for about a week and a half to two weeks and had an nj tube for almost the entire time. We started bottle feeding about 5 days before he was discharged. It was the last thing he had to get down before doing his hearing and carseat tests to go home. He was 3lbs 8oz at birth and was 6lbs 2oz when he was discharged. They have to meet certain milestones in order to be able to leave and sometimes it takes awhile when theyre born that early! I hope it won't be as long for you and your sweet baby!

32+6. Was there for 3 weeks exactly. It'll depend on your kiddos needs and size She was 4lbs 5oz at birth and dropped to like 3lbs 10oz. She needed to be 4 lbs to fit in a carseat. She was 4lbs 6oz when they discharged her. She mostly just needed to feed and grow. She had a feeding tube for the first week and went to bottles/breastfeeding. They have trouble sucking when they are that early. They tried adding formula to breastmilk the week before, but she got blood in her stool, so we just used breastmilk. They gave her mist the day after she was born. She was on room air before a week old. She wasn't having any breathing events for over 3 days before. They sent her home with caffeine and iron. They followed up with home care nurses for a month. Edit: When she was born they told us she would probably be there at least a month. They were surprised by how well she did.
