Potty Training

Mommas who have done the potty training thing, i need help!!! We just started potty training and my daughter is doing great!! Other than the pooping part. She is for some reason still scared of pooping on the potty so she withholds until she can’t hold it anymore and then ends up having an accident and pooping in her underwear. How do i help get her past this part of potty training!? It’s stressing me out. Help!

My sons the same way and I need help to!

My daughter has the same issue but she accidentally poops on the floor when she’s squatting down to play because i keep her bottom less until she knows how to pull down her clothes! I think it’s worked bc she’s pooped on the potty a few times!

I think godiaperfree on IG might have some good resources for you!

We did a 3 day naked trial! I stayed home Friday - Sunday and let me son run around naked! He, of course peed in the floor a few times but when it come to pooping, he refused to go anywhere but the potty. He’s now 4, and we still deal with accidents, especially at nap but it’s nothing crazy! There’s a guide for 3 day potty training, check it out!

Where is she using the potty? The big ones can be scary for poop so it might be worth trying a small one.

I did the rewarding system. A reward each potty trip and double rewards for pooing on the potty.

@Kallie we did the same thing. She has no other accidents other than pooping! She mastered peeing on the potty during the 3 day potty training method.

@Megan yea she uses the big potty at home at least. Idk what kind they have at the daycare so maybe i need to find that out.

@Hannah we are doing this. Big time!!!! But we have started taking the reward away if she poops in her underwear even if she goes to the potty to finish.

We had this issue and we just kept it super low pressure and she eventually went. We had about 2 months of poo in undies but we just didn't make a big deal of it and said next time we'll try for the potty ok! Now she's a champion!

Pooping is so psychological they feel the pressure ahah. So you've gotta just be so chill about it

If she’s telling you she needs to poo but freaks out about going on the potty my sister turned it in to a game with her daughter placed her on there and distracted her with a toy that helped her through the fear

You could use her favourite teddy and put the teddy on the potty and say that it needs a poo, pretend they have done a poo and praise the teddy. Also you could play with some play-doh, put some in your fist, and push the play-doh out between your thumb and finger to demonstrate what happens - it might help ease her.

I found a seat cover that has a step to get on that fits right on top of the toilet so she wont fall through, on Amazon and I set a timer got the same amount of time to go potty no matter if it’s 1 or 2 she has to try to go and I always asked which one are you going because one and two had different colored stickers to put on the wall if you get so many number one stickers and number two stickers you get a prize I guess it’s a little bribing, but but It might work

@Crystal 100% failing at that

@Courtney i have tried this! It didn’t work at all for us! I even tried to put something on my phone for her to watch and that just distracted her completely to where she isn’t even trying to go.
