Is it safe to travel to India (Mumbai) with a 9 month old?

Hi everyone, one of our very best friends is getting married in Mumbai in December and our baby will be 9 months old. I’m super nervous about it even though I’m an experienced traveler, it would be my first time traveling abroad with a baby and I’ve never been to India. I’m nervous about the air quality, getting sick, car seat/travel safety logistics, feeding and bottle warming logistics, overall culture and safety advice. I’m just struggling because I really want to be there for our friends and the experience. But my main concern is that my baby would be safe and healthy. So I’m also considering staying home with baby while my fiancé attends. Help! lol

This is exactly what I’m worried about as well. I still haven’t taken our toddler to see family yet but we also have a wedding in December and our second will be 6 months and my husband is insisting we go this time. I’m also not looking forward to the time change. All of my in-laws have insisted we don’t come because our kids will get sick. They’ve said wait until they are older like 3-4.

Idk if I'm bias as I'm half Indian but.. you'll be okay. Mum took us since we were babies ..me at 6m my 2 other sisters when they were-even younger and we visited regularly. She'd sometimes travel alone we went/go to Chennai tho I took my little boy when he was 2 last year for a month and he was okay. For safety advice there's the general don't go out alone, look after your bags, stay with the group or ask your friends for specific places to do things as they'd know best what's safe or reputable in the area. as for car seats if you're using an auto you wouldn't able to..but in a cab you can..you can use Uber or cabs apps there so you can use the car seat ( again you can ask your friends) Where would you be staying ? If it's a hotel I'm sure you could work something out for heating the bottles Drink only bottles water ( that's what we've always done) and get your shots that you'd need like yellow fever .. you can also get cholera ( ask your health visitor or check with yyou'r

A coworker took his 4 month old there so his wife's family could meet them. They got married and had a baby during covid so it was the first time he was meeting extended family.
