Dairy free recipes

Bub has juat been diagnosed with a possible cows milk allergy, and as he is currently BF, I need to do a diet overhaul. Wondering if anyone has any quick go-to snacks or dinner recipes that have been in the same boat? Even better if no chick or seafood 😊 google has too many options and it's a bit overwhelming

I'm in the same boat. I was told to avoid soy as well as it is a common co-allergy with cow milk protein. Very tricky to avoid both. Even a lot of breads contain one of them. Recipes I have cooked include minestrone soup, aloo Matar curry, eggplant curry (most Indian curries are fine as long as any creaminess is from coconut milk - avoid fenugreek though as it can affect milk supply), roast veg risotto, and planning to cook paella. I find a lot of recipe ideas on Pinterest.

Ooh thank you! I was looking at some of the snacks I have and they don't have milk, but are soy based so that sucks! Ill definitely look into some of those receipes, and I hope it gets better for you!

- falafel kebab (homemade) or falafel salad - oats pancake (oats+banana+plant based milk) - most of the indian curries (without paneer) - stir fry veggies and rice - veg pulao - chickpea curry - Enchiladas (Beans stuffing or spinach potato)

@Alajeeta sounds delish, I'll definitely give some a go!

I just eat very simple.. lots of potatoes and veg with meats or fish. Just avoid putting cream in sauce and avoid butter. For brekky i have oats in all forms and varieties lol. For my oats & coffe or tea i use almond milk, i use the barrista one or milky. Im also a big snacker so i eat haribos, potatoe chips or lindt dairy free chocolate (it is sooo good). Overall it is really not that hard to stay off dairy once you get used to it. Your diet just gets a lot simpler. And at the start you need to be careful as soo many things have milk powder in it where you dont even expect it. Always check the labels :)

@Mica sounds like my current diet of meat and potatoes, but I'm noticing more and more potato making its way onto my plate 😂 I'll definitely check out the lindt Chocolate, thank you!

Haha potatoes are delicious. Dont worry, i find i always loose weight during non-dairy phases (due to less chocolate and cheese i guess) the few potatoes wont harm you ;)

@Mica the potato can make up for the maltesers I can no longer eat 😂

@Mica have now tried and can confirm the chocolate is delish! 👌
