Dog medication

Not sure if I’m overthinking this… but am I ok to give my dog his medication or should my husband do it? 16 weeks pregnant. It’s pills not liquid but I’ve read a bit about handling certain medications?

You will be fine to give it as long as you don’t ingest it

When i was pregnant my dog was on steriod tablets and i was told i had to wear gloves while giving them

What medication is it? Totally depends on what it is

I think it all comes down to you and how you feel about it as well. I know it’s not the same but, My vet was really against giving my dog the kennel cough vaccine because it’s a live one. But I told them I wanted him to have it as he had kennel cough as a pup and was severally ill from it. Same as he’s been on really strong pain killers and antibiotics throughout my pregnancy. I think if it was steroids I’d just make sure I was wearing a glove and washing my hands afterwards.

My dog was having chemo and on steroids when I was first pregnant and I was fine x

You should be fine hun if your wearing gloves and wash your hand after 😊 your vet or nurse will tell you if it's a medication that will affect pregnancies as they have too

Thank you so much, I did think about checking with his vet. They are important but over the counter so I assume fine. For his liver and pancreas. I will wear gloves as an extra precaution! Really appreciate the quick responses, my anxiety has been bad in this pregnancy 💗

For liver and pancreas id be careful. Anything steroid related opt for gloves but supplements like denamarin should be okay. I’d wear gloves to be safe. Anything related to antibiotics also wear gloves. Anything related to hormones like thyforon or levoxyl is a no no though! Xx

Vetrazyme - contains the three essential enzymes required to promote optimal digestion of the proteins, fats and carbohydrates And Hepatiale Forte - dietary supplement feed for dogs to maintain natural liver function

@Grace thank you! My husband has been doing it but he’s away this week so I will have to but wear gloves 🙏
