Sleeping

My 6 month old is still only sleeping 2 and a half hours at a time.. sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less. I am slowly losing it. It’s been 6 months of no sleep and I am truly exhausted. I don’t know what to do anymore. Sometimes when she wakes up I try putting a pacifier in her mouth and that only works if she has woken up within the hour, however if it’s been 2 hours or more she will just keep crying/screaming until I breastfeed her. I don’t know what to do. She is pretty relentless. I have tried letting her cry it out to see if she can self soothe but that definitely didn’t work. She got so worked up that it was insane. Any tips? 🫠

Have you looked into the Ferber method. My friend said it worked for her and we’re still trying. Having a few ups and downs but baby was also sick.

I’m working on the Ferber method but my son is also a rolly Polly and keeps rolling on his face. My best advice is to stick to the routine no matter how hard it gets. Changing the routine messes everything up. The more you stick to it, the better it will get. If you can, try to take a nap or two during the day. I work from home so I know how hard that is. You got this!

That’s pretty normal for breastfed babies. Breastfed babies metabolise milk faster so they’ll typically be up sooner than formula fed babies as formula takes longer to metabolise. This isn’t all, just some. What’s worked for me was introducing food (we started 5.5 months with ped’s approval—we do both traditional & blw). He doesn’t really sleep long throughout the day, but he sleeps the entire night.

So we had this same problem with my 6.5 month old. He is EBF, but for his nightine feed, we started giving him a large bottle, so we know he's getting a lot to hold him over through the night.. paired this with Ferber method, and it's worked great! We adjusted Ferber time intervals to what we are comfortable with. He usually sleeps 5 or 6 hours before waking up now.
