Yes it may well be, every dog presents differently. I would make an appointment with your vet for a check over and maybe pain relief trial if you don’t want to go for imaging.

Hey my little dachshund recently had her first IVDD episode, she would randomly start crying, screeching in pain at certain angles like looking up. She quickly became wobbly on her back legs and tentative to move around. We took her to the vets and they did some checks, gave pain killers and she now does physio&hydrotherapy regularly and is making a good recovery. Message me if you need any advice! I think the key is recognising the signs before it progresses so worth getting checked out ☺️x

Have you checked her teeth? When playing rough do you mean tug of war? I heard tug of war can cause spine weakness so we tend to stay away from that with our Dachshunds!

Thank you all. No we never play tug with her due to their potential back problems. She has a lot of soft toys and she throws them around and waggles them in her mouth and this is when she’s yelp out on a few occasions xx
