I had an emergency c section, I’d recommend taking big knickers that go over your stomach so they don’t sit on/irritate your scar. I’ve bought “caesarean knickers” from John Lewis and they are so comfortable, a little pricey but definitely worth it in my opinion! Before I purchased, I was wearing the large knickers from primark (wore those throughout pregnancy for comfort) You’ll want baggy/comfy clothes for coming home, along with sliders (bending down to put shoes on can be painful) I suggest sliders over flip flops as I was sent home with compression socks on to help reduce the swelling in my legs/ankles. If you have a large insulated bottle, take that with you for after! Easier to keep hydrated, and I found the water they bring round went warm really quickly. When you do get discharged, take it easy, listen to your body and make sure you keep on top of your pain meds. Don’t over do things too quickly, as you wouldn’t want to set yourself back and recovery take longer x

Big, high knickers that go over your belly button. Use your hospital bed to move up and down and raise the back. Make your bed the highest setting in the air so you're higher than the cot, it makes it easier to get the baby out. Take the pain killers, don't shy off then. Stay in hospital for as long as you need, don't rush home (I did 3 nights). It allowed for support, the electronic bed and also liquid morphine Once the dressing is off, lie flat and air it out when you can Do everything in your power to avoid constipation... Never in my life have I ever experienced the pain and discomfort that brought afterwards When you're home, to get off your bed by rolling

I agree with soft high waisted underwear, drink loads of water and eat loads, take pain meds everytime you can, don’t wait for the pain to start/ them to wear off. stay in hospital as long as you can and take help!!! sounds silly but i ended up ordering a remote control light bulb for my lamp so i didn’t have to get up in the middle of the night and turn lights on or off, i also had a changing mat and nappy caddy ON my bed so i never had to get up and reach for anything
