Sweep done

In my last pregnancy i got to 6cm and my waters hadn't broken, I honestly didn't feel it at all when they went ahead and did it. If you've managed the sweep you can definitely handle your waters being broke x

I managed to have my waters broken at 1cm. Just felt like a strange pop no pain. My contractions ramped up really quick and gave birth within 3hrs! good luck xx

@Ellie sorry I got one more question, did they keep you in the hospital after they break your water or do they ask you to go home? X

@Carine in theory they should do as they are manually breaking waters x

@Ellie that’s good they didn’t give me much information on it they told me I’d get a scan and put on fetal monitor then they will break my water but didn’t say what will happen after x

My waters didn’t break until I was actually pushing with my first! I went to my midwife appointment to get a sweep and they saw I was 6cm dilated told me to go hospital, which I was then sent home cus nothing was happening quick enough, went back and my waters broke in the birthing pool as I was giving birth! Every pregnancy is different x

@Carine what happened with me was I was originally in for an induction but had to have it taken out as I started contracting only after 2 hours! When I went down to delivery they put me on the monitor and broke my waters and then left me on the monitor the whole time but they were ‘portable’ so I could move around and get into comfy positions. How are you getting on @Carine ? I’m in the same boat and thought I’d check in 😊 I had a 2nd sweep today and also 2cm dilated. She mentioned possibly breaking waters for me on Monday. Did you have much progress today? Xx

@Lisa hey yes I’m in the delivery unit now had my water broken and having regular contraction x
