Binky help

My little one is a 7 months old chunker. When she was born we introduced the pacifier and about a month or 2 ago she started refusing it. No longer cares for it. The issue is at nighttime she wakes up crying and won’t stop unless she has the boob. She wakes up more than 3/4 times every night and has to have the boob. This is making me worry because I feel it’s contributing to her weight gain. She’s at the borderline of being heavy for her age range is what the doctor told me at our last visit. I’ve tried offering the pací, giving her a bit of water and nothing will stop her from crying except the boob so she’s constantly eating. Any ideas what I can do to help her? I’m worried.

Maybe try a different brand of pacifier? If this doesn’t work then maybe she is just comfort feeding or she might be actually hungry. Even when the doctor says your baby is “heavy” it doesn’t mean much because a baby is constantly growing and will grow into their chubbiness. She might be going through a growth spurt or teething. My baby also did this for a while and got chunky a bit but he calmed down about a month ago and grew almost 2 inches since then 😆 he was also teething at the same time.

Don’t worry about her being chubby, they’ll grow into their weight. My daughter is in the 99 percentile for her weight and I’m not worried at all. As for the pacifiers, maybe try a different brand and when you find one she likes then put multiple of them throughout the crib so she can find them. Breastfed babies tend to wake more. She could simply be going through a growth spurt or even be teething.
