Reusable nappy?

Hey! Is anyone currently using a reusable nappy for their LO? And realistically is it better? Do you get any leaks? I assume every-time baby is changed a new nappy needs to be used? Thanks ☺️

There's are different types of reusable nappies different people will favour different types. We use pocket nappies with poppers I don't like velcro ones. I use birth to potty they fit my daughter from 10lbs and they still fit my 12kg son We only get a leak if nappy is on funny. They do take some learning as they are different to disposables. You have to ensure the elastics are tucked in, they sit low, and the absorbancy is right. Change every 2 hours we can get 3 hours out of a nappy if boosted efficiency and can get dedicated night nappies. Depending on the nappy you use some you can reuse the shells of if isn't soiled but most whole nappy needs changing. Each type has different pros and cons. Washing is difficult to get use to go you keep nappy as dry as can until wash day. You have to pre wash and main wash. No fabric softener to be used and use powder to wash. They need long cycles and plenty of agitation to clean. I use oxy stain remover in my pre wash and they are still as white as brand new

Waterproof pul should not be tumble dried so have to air dry but I find they are normally dry overnight. They are addictive though and always want more. Ideally you want enough to change nappy every 2 hours for 3 days but I would test them before make the commitment.

@Devon Oh wow 🤩 Thanks hun for all the handy info! I will look into and hopefully bubba will start journey to eco friendly nappies 🥰

@Claudia there are really helpful Facebook groups I highly recommend joining they helped me soo much when I started my journey and theres no judgement in the groups :) - The nappy lady buying and selling group - Clean cloth nappies - Cloth nappies UK I've had to write an instructions manual for my family when they watch my daughter as she can't use disposable so they've all had to learn reusable
