I would call his doctor. It looks a bit irritated

I would definitely get it checked out. My daughter has an umbilical hernia and they told me if it ever looks like her belly button is red or squeezing out to go to the er

I searched up what a hernia looks like, this is not it. please stop trying to cause me to have an anxiety attack. also the doctor has seen it before and never said anything. you telling me to go to the er is not helping, I'm not going to sit in the er. the women on here are causing me too much stress.

@Riley you’ve asked for advice. This does not look normal for 8 weeks. There is oozing. The belly button should have healed by now and should be dry. You should get her checked over again

I don’t think she was necessarily trying to scare you or anything but she said what she was told by her own pediatricians. Have you asked your pediatrician about it? To be honest, most of the moms on here aren’t doctors so when people ask about something medical related we can only really offer what we would do or what we’ve heard personally. I would definitely ask your pediatrician about it, even if they haven’t seemed concerned about it, just so you have a better understanding of what’s going on and you don’t continue to worry about it ❤️

Fuciden cream works wonders for this to get it to heal up properly. Cost $90 CAD for me to get a tube. They might make smaller tubes or maybe you can get smaller amounts but it needs some sort of treatment. My LG is 4 weeks and hers is fully healed.

@Riley i don’t think she was trying to give you an anxiety attack, you asked for advice so she just gave you hers, its better to hear that than everyone tell you that it’s okay when it’s definitely something that needs to be checked out. and doctors aren’t perfect either, sometimes they miss or overlook things, if you don’t bring it up, it could get worse than it is, don’t take the doctors silence as reassurance, you are her only advocate, if you feel concerned about something, bring it up, don’t wait for the doctor to bring it up or ask about it

@mady literally!! This is so true

@Riley I’m sure she’s just explaining her situation, which I’m sure she was scared of too at the time … being that her baby was going through it all . She’s just offering what she knows based on what she’s lived.. seems kind of unfair for you to say that to her :/ we’re supposed to help eachother . In the end that’s why u asked us because to some extent it helps knowing if others have been through the same situation .. unfortunately it just wasn’t what you wanted to hear. We just want to help your baby, most of our doctors told us the belly buttons should be healed by the second week.. if anything … by the 4th but she’s a little too old for it to seem like a normal occurrence … even if you don’t wanna take her to the ER atleast consider making an appointment with her pediatrician so you can sleep okay :)

@Rachel Hope ur baby is okay !!!

It looks like it could be a pyogenic granuloma! I had one during pregnancy on my face and my surgeon (when I had it removed) told me it’s common in babies belly buttons!

I’ve had one like this just make sure it’s being kept clean. Use cooled boiled water to wipe it over. If it starts leaking any fluids or red rash around the belly button take to a pharmacy or GP x

My baby had that I put aquapor and it dried up and now it’s honestly gone

have her checked out again and voice your concerns verbally. that doesn’t look normal. Nobody told you that it’s a hernia, if women here are giving you anxiety then take her to the doctors and ask questions about what is normal. We are not all doctors here we are speaking from experience.

That looks infected, I'd check with your gp or midwife, definitely should have healed by 8 weeks, hope all is okay (:
