Baby not napping

Okay before I go crazy.. baby boy turned 2 months and all of a sudden baps went through the window. He barely slept 2 hours in the whole day making it impossible for him to nap. Tried literally everything… Couldn’t go for a walk as is pissing down! Do I just let him be awake? He doesn’t cry or fuss too much yet, but i can see from his eyes he is quite tired. Scared the night is gonna be sleepless now though?

They can go through a 8 week regression where their maternal melatonin has run out and they’re starting to develop their own (it’s easier at night), until they get the hang of it, it’s harder for them to sleep during the day. When my LO was 8 weeks, we tried to get him to nap in a dark room and basically follow a shorter version so his night routine to get him to nap. He ended up only contact napping for an hour each nap during the day. For us it lasted about a week and then he started to sleep through 8-10 hours a night. Fingers crossed he settles for you soon, it’s hard but it’s good for their development

@Jackie Aw bless, thanks for sharing! Hopefully that’s what it is!

He might just be working things out, it won’t be forever! Hope it works out for you soon!!

My son is nearly 8 months and we’ve had so many ups and downs with naps! If napping in the day is he in a light room with distractions? I found that my little one could no longer sleep on me in the lounge around 2/3 months and I had to be in a darker room with white noise on. I think they just become much more aware and don’t want sleep x

@Laura We used to be in the living room with noise on, but he doesn’t seem to like it anymore for longer nap. I put him upstairs now in the darker room with white noise machine that he usually loved, but yeah nothing worked 😅
