3 year old funding

Can anyone help me in understanding…. Our current set up is that my daughter goes to preschool 4 days a week (27 hours a week) With her 2 year funding she gets 15 hours a week paid for and we pay the remaining 12 hours Come sept with the 3 year funding as she only goes 27 hours will it essentially be free?! How does it work?

Those hours are only term time so anything out of term time you have to pay for and usually only covers set hours from for example 8-5 outside those hours you have to pay for. They also end up charging a fee for consumables or food because the government funding isn’t enough xx

Thanks she only goes term time and we pay for lunches separately. Sorry should of mentioned that

With ours if not going non term times you still have to contribute and pay for 1 or 2 days non term time depending how many days they go already as that keeps their spot in the nursery also and helps keep them going so you may end up having to do something like that as our nursery also don't want us to pay for consumables

Yes, from my understanding it will be free, paid for by government as you are entitled to receive 30h a week term time. I know that 15h for 3 year olds is for everyone and there are extra rules for 30h, but if you are eligible then it’s gonna be free. I’m sure if you ask in her pre school they will be able to confirm.

Mine went 10 hours previously, he now goes 15 hours should be free but costs us the same as 10 hours did, slightly more but he has to go non term time

I think it depends on the preschool/nursery. At ours, it will be free as the funding covers it all. We have to provide food. However, friends of mine that are at different settings haven't really saved much with the 2 year funding
