Sick after calpol

I really need a hand here. Everytime I need to give calpol (syrup) to my son he vomits straight away. I tried to give him a tiny bit at the time (and believe me it's a reeeeeal struggle) but he struggles to swallow it and then all the precious liquid in his stomach comes up. Now he fell asleep exhausted but now I'm worried about him getting dehydrated. This is a constant thing and I don't know what to do. Help 🥲

Have you tried just baby paracetamol instead of branded calpol? My little girl is always sick after calpol but fine with paracetamol. I dont know why. I thought she might be allergic but the GP told me they've never met anyone allergic to it before, but there's definitely something in it that doesn't agree with her!

Thanks! I'll go to the pharmacy tomorrow and get some. Does it have the same viscosity though?

Our son is allergic to strawberries and can't cope with Calpol it makes him react as it's strawberry flavour. How's your son with strawberries? We have cherry kids paracetamol now and he's fine with that.

Can you try suppositories? That's what I use when my boy refuses his calpol if he has sore throat or vomiting
