Baby’s height

Just finished baby’s 9 month appointment and doctor said my baby’s height growth slowed down. He was 15th percentile and went to 6th percentile (27 inches now). He said it could be genetics, undernourished (which I don’t think because he drinks and eats good) or hormonal. So, he offered if we wanted to do a thyroid test. Here’s us thinking he’s doing and looking great and now I’m worried!! I’m also 4’10 and my husband is 5’10. My husband said not to worry because my son is a whasian baby lol. Anyone else have a “short” baby? Or did anyone do a thyroid test?

I wouldn’t worry! Trust your mama instincts. If you feel a test is necessary then go for it. But if you know that your baby is eating and drinking well then it’s very possible that it could just be genetics.

Why not do the test to be sure? If he has thyroid it would be better to know it sooner rather than later.

My baby is short too. 20th percentile in hieght but 70th in head size lmao. I asked if his hieght and weight were proportionate. She said yes, so I dont think hes under nurished. Anyways came here to tell you my mom was always small, the drs would always tell her parents she was very small. Senior year of highschool she had a huge growth spurt and now shes 5’9.

I have a small baby. Nothing is wrong, he's just a 5% baby lol. They did a thyroid test in the hospital, but if they didnt, I would have asked.

My baby is in the first percentile and is super small for 9m at a whopping 14lbs. I'm 5 even, and his dad is 5'4, so we decided as long as his growth is steady not to fuss with it. However, I don't see testing as a bad thing. It's just more information on what may or may not be the cause, and it'll give peace of mind. Especially if there is an issue later on.

My son is 28 Inches in height and weights 19 pounds. His height puts him in the 57% percentile. His weight is in 24%. It's crazy how an inch or a pound can change things.

My son is small in weight and height percentile... But big in head percentiles. He's always been lower in those, but he consistently gains length . And he's staying on his curve overall.

But he started out long ( 19.5 inches long at birth 🥰 ... Even being a tiny 5 pounds 8 ounces at birth 🥰) he turned 10 months on Sunday , I last measured his length on 04/15, he was 27.5 inches long, so up to 8th percentile ( i used a fabric tape measure)

But I'm actually expecting him to get tall ( I'm 5 foot 6, hubby is five foot 8 .... Hubby's mom was told with her other son ( hubby's brother).... Oh he's going to be small.... His brother is six feet tall.... So height definitely runs in the family..... Also. , my dad is six foot two.... So it's definitely there in both sides of the family)

I'm expecting him to be at least 5 foot 8 or nine when done growing
