Napping

The only ‘peaceful time’ and ‘time to myself’ I get is around 7:30 onwards when baby boy naps on me until his last bottle at 10:30 before bed. Does anyone else let there baby nap before bed? If so how long? Do you wake them up just before bedtime or do you wake them up an hour before so they sleep longer? Help please! I don’t want to loose this time as I enjoy the quiet as bad as that sounds for a few hours before I go to bed myself but worried him napping this time will cause him not to sleep at night?

Our night bottle is at 11:30 and it’s definitely a dream feed - he’s not fully awake but eating.

@Cydney what time does he sleep before that?x

I do the same, my baby goes to sleep about 7:30pm downstairs on me and then around 9pm - 9:30pm I take her upstairs to change her, put her sleeping bag on and then we get in bed where she has a bottle. She then goes down for the night and falls back to sleep straight away, she wakes twice a night for feeds eventually waking around 7:30-8am. The way I see it is the time she starts sleeping on me from 7:30pm is technically her bedtime rather than a nap, her naps before this are short and she sleeps quite light, whereas this last sleep is quite long and she is in a deeper sleep. I think I could probably put her down in her crib at this time if I wanted to but that would mean leaving her upstairs alone and I’m not ready to do that. I’m not sure how old your baby is but they have quite early bedtimes and need around 12 hours of sleep at night so I don’t think this last sleep should affect the sleep for the rest of the night

I can see from your profile that baby is only a couple of months old so as someone else says for him that's part of bedtime. I wouldn't be concerned at this stage. Enjoy your chill time :)

At this age mine would cluster feed and sleep on an evening then go to bed with us it’s only once they’re older that things would change enjoy it

@Heather he goes down anywhere between 6:30-8:00 depending on how tired he is - I find he often has longer wake windows in the evenings right before he goes down.
