@Honor thank you that give me a really good idea of how detailed I want mine to be

Things to consider would be if/when you want an epidural or other pain management. Do you want to be able to walk around/use a birthing ball or peanut. What position you want to birth in. External vs internal monitoring, IV access, eating during labor etc. with an induction it may feel like you have less of a say so make sure you speak up for yourself on what’s important.

@Halie No problem! Its better to think of everything because alot of times doctors and nurses are used to doing the same thing with everyone a “one size fits all” and that may not be for you. They will also tell you “thats hospital policy” so you “have to”. Thats simply not true, they cannot turn away a laboring mom, and they cant force you to do anything or accept anything. My midwife of all people tried to tell me pitocin after birth is “mandatory” and “hospital policy” I told her I dont work at the hospital so thier policy isnt my problem🤷🏽‍♀️. That stopped that convo.

@Honor yeah Ik what you mean I don't think that I will have the problem with the place I am going to but I want to have one type up just incase. Is it wrong that I want mine to be very detailed

@Halie Its not wrong. Being vulnerable infront of others in this way is anxiety inducing. One way to curb anxiety and put your mind at rest is having a detailed plan but appreciating where you may not get everything exactly how you invisioned. You can actually call the hospital or talk to your obgyn about your preferances ahead of time and see what they say. There will be alot of hard “this has to happens” but they just say that to get you to fit in to the one size fits all approach the hospitals have in place. You can deny any care for you or your baby you dont want, they will try to force you or make it seem like you have no option but you do. Dont forget how much money these people are making off of you. Also dont forget how much money each of thier “policies” make them.

@Honor yeah ik what you mean

@Honor is this an app you used to help you?

@Isabel I used mama naturals guide, google her birth preferences template. I used my editing on my tablet to change/ add to her template. I was very anxious and felt like her template was very geared at helping the medical practitioner give us the illusion of choice while also limiting our choice to a “policy” agreeable level.
