I took my little girl at 2 months old and just put suncream on her legs and arms just in case!! But kept her covered and used pram / snooze shade / umbrellas to keep her in shade xxx
As above, we took my first abroad before 6m and did our best to keep him shaded, but did use suncream too- wasn’t willing to risk it.
They only say don’t use suncream because you’re supposed to avoid the sun! But it’s sometimes a good precaution as can’t 100% avoid !! Xx
We’re going when she’s just shy of 6 months and taking sun cream x
Hey there, I’m taking my LO on holiday when she is 5 months. I spoke to Health Visiting team about this and they said apply sun cream on baby when on holiday but where you can avoid sun directly. I’m taking mustela sun cream for baby.
We kept our 4 month old in the shade but used child’s farm SPF50 on his arms and legs x
I didn't even know you couldn't use suncream before 6 months. Mines 4 months and I put suncream on his face, arms and neck the other day and he was fine 🤷 x
Buy a natural suncream such as badger or shade - they have no nasty chemicals in
I think that rule exists just so you don’t take baby out in the sun - but it’s not a practical rule at all. We are in Portugal just now and I’ve been slapping the factor 50 sun cream on like no-ones business this week. Archie is 4 months . Instead of Archie’s morning baby massage with coconut oil, he’s been having his baby massage with sun cream. I’ve then just applied extra cream to visible areas not covered by his baby massage regime. He has a set of sunnies and a few sun hats and I cover him over in the pram and physically keep him away from the sun as much as I can. So far he’s not been burned.
We took our little one away 2 weeks ago and she was 3 months. We used suncream as it was 28 degrees and she's very mottled and pale x
Following as I’m wondering what people do too!
