What should baby poop look like?

Not to be weird, but can ya’ll drop some pics of newborn diapers in the comments? My 8 week old had blood in her diaper the other day and now we are cutting out allergens from my diet. The Doctor asked if her poop was liquid but I assumed it should be because all she eats is liquid. What is it actually suppose to look like?

I don't have pics but it should be a sticky/pastey consistency. If breastfed then the same but with "seeds" in it. Usually shades of yellow, green, brownish but any color other than red(blood) or white is normal. If it's liquid to the point that you could tilt the diaper and it runs off then that's not a normal poop

Thanks! I don’t know if I’ve truly seen whet breastfeeding baby “seedy” poop looks like.. what about like mucusy? Not normal?

Shouldn't be mucusy. Most of the time, brestbed Babies poop looks like grey poupon mustard +/- small white seed like deposits. Formula normally causes more brown still loose stools.

If she’s mucus, liquid, and blood- that sounds like a milk protein allergy. Lactose intolerance at the very least. Also, was she tested for PKU at the hospital? If you don’t know ask. PKU is supposed to be one of the first blood tests now, but I don’t know what state you live in. PKU would mean she struggles with all protein not just milk. Your diaper should look like a cross between the consistency of a butt paste like desitin and at worst a thicker paste. We joke the thickest kind is the “play dough pasta maker” poop. If it’s pure liquid, that’s diarrhea.

Also, if your baby is 8 weeks, you are coming up on the 2 month appointment. If your doctor labels it as the 2 month appointment in the paperwork, you can get the whole visit or most of the visit covered through insurance without copay.
