Are you more like to miscarry again if you get pregnant first cycle?

I had a D&C 2 weeks ago. I want to try again on my next cycle. I feel emotionally ready. I’m worried trying so soon will result in another missed miscarriage. Should I wait?

Hard decision to make. I had a successful pregnancy during my next cycle.

I think it is recommended to wait, but you could always talk to your health care provider about the potential risks of trying again so soon.

After my last miscarriage (I had 2 back to back), my doctor told me it has no extra risk than any other pregnancy. She told me you can start ovulating and get pregnant before you even get your period again. Thats what happened to me, and now I am 33 weeks pregnant with my double rainbow baby ❤️ Good luck mama, as long as youre emotionally ready and you feel youre physically healed from the D&C, go for it 😊

@Billie this is what I’ve read as well. I have also heard that you are actually more likely to have a healthy pregnancy if you get pregnant within the first six months after a miscarriage

@Billie oh really? How’s that work? I’ve still got a faint positive test 2 weeks after my D&C surgery. I’m guessing you need a negative test before your body ovulates x

@Alli Yes! Thats what I was also told! This pregnancy has gone so well, no complications, baby is in 75th percentile doing sooo well!

@Ashley Yes once you have a negative test you should be good to go! I meant to add that to my comment. It can take a few weeks for that test to go negative depending on how far along you were. I didnt need a D&C, the baby passed on their own. So my test came back negative pretty quick. 4 weeks after my bleeding, I was already pregnant again 😊

As far as I know it doesn't increase the risk, getting pregnant within a few months can actually lower the risk. It's whenever you feel emotionally ready as some people find trying straight away helpful where as others feel the need to wait.
