Fever !

Hi so my 11 month old has had a fever since yesterday. She has 8 teething coming in at once. She doesn't show any other signs with fever just a fever. It got to 102 then comes down with Tylenol and Motrin. I don't know if this is because teething or do I need to take her to the ER. First Time Mom. Please Help.

If the fever isn’t gone after 48hrs I would say take her. but keep doing Tylenol and Motrin that’s literally what they are gonna tell you I just went in for my 11month old

And keep watching for new symptoms or if she’s isn’t being herself

@Antionette thank you so much. Was it teething for you as well?

@Antionette she has spells where she is tired and don't want to be bothered nothing too alarming. Like right now she is up dancing to Ms.Rachel and the fever is at 100.6

lol now that I’m thinking about it I honestly have no idea lol but her teeth are coming in

Yep that’s how I knew my child was getting better she was doing the same thing although her temp was still high bc when it first came on she was like a dead animal in one places for hrs and the not eating etc that’s when you take them in to make sure it’s just a fever and nothing else

How do you take her temperature?

Fevers at that rate are not uncommon in infants and young children. If prolonged (48 hrs or so) or gets worse (or more symptoms), I'd call the pediatrician. When mine had a fever and no other symptoms, it ended up being an ear infection.

I thought that the fever MIGHT ve due to teething (but we took her in anyway) and she ended up getting sick the next day 😮‍💨 She showed no symptoms that first day, she just had an ear infection the month before so I wanted to make sure

I agree with @Antionette right now it doesnt seem like there is a need for her to go in. Of fever continues after 48hrs then take her as she may have an infection needed antibiotics. My other concern would be dehydration so make sure she is able to drink fluids and keeping them down. I hope it’s just teething and the fever breaks soon!

I'd just see the pediatrician when you can. 102 would be a very low fever for an ER trip. It shouldn't be teething, those fevers shouldn't reach 102 but I'd call the pediatrician so they can get you in tomorrow morning

@Antionette I have a ear thermometer

@Tiffany thank you. I took her and it was also an ear infection.
