When you’re cradle holding your baby, how do you successfully place them in their bassinet?

Sometimes try slow rocking while walking to bassinet then stop and swiftly place baby down. Another way I wait until baby is blinking looking 😴 sleepy and then I put baby down and rock the bassinet but there’s no perfect way…I’m learning to just try and try again 😉

I do what K first said but I make sure I put my LOs head down first; It helps with the startle reflex.

I’m rocking and butt patting, then just slightly rocking and butt patting, then just standing there, then put him down slowly. I keep my hand on his chest for a minute and might shush but he usually goes down really well. Now we are starting daycare and I’m being told he won’t sleep for her…. Yeah might have been my bad on that one! 😩

You are supposed to place feet/butt down first, head last, to avoid started reflex

@Kaitlyn I make sure my baby is asleep whether it's deep or light sleep and I literally place my whole upper body somewhat in the crib where my forearms touch the mattress first and then slowly start removing them from underneath baby. Works 9/10x

@Caroline interesting 🤨 thanks

Apparently you're supposed to stay as close as possible to their chest when putting them down to prevent Moro reflex and place your hand on their tummy as soon as they're down, works for my LO 🤷🏻‍♀️
