My EBF Lo is 4months old and she has been waking up more at night (every 2 hours) for her feeds. In the day time she can go 3-4 hours without eating. She also wouldn’t eat if she’s not hungry no matter how many times I try. They say make sure she gets more nursing time in the day but she just wouldn’t take in any more. I tried to nurse her less last night but then she woke up every hour hungry. I can’t find any really helpful advice online. If anyone has any hacks or suggestions please lmk

Following! I’m going through the same thing.

Going through the same thing!! He maybe breastfeeds 3 times during the day but at night he’s up every hour. I offer it a lot during the day and he just refuses it. Hopefully it’s just a phase because of teething or a growth spurt or something!

I watched a vedio, they are board eating at the brest at this age, try getting her attion when she is feeding with a toy, and when she looks alway hid the toy, when she being g to eat well agian bring it back out for her to watch, I also had to watch my baby eat if I look alway he will come off, if I make eye contact he will eat longer

Most likely the 4 month sleep regression.. :( When my 4 month old started having this issue, I started feeding him some baby oatmeal. I just give it to him once a day and it fills him up more during the day so he’s been sleeping longer at night again. My pediatrician also gave the go-ahead to start purées so I’ll prob start that next week and see how that goes

4 month sleep regression is pretty common to see more frequent night wakes that usually fade away on their own. It’s also a really common age to get distracted at the breast during day feeds, so a dark quiet room might help when possible.

Mine does the same thing and I try to feed during her naps in the morning. That's been working so far. She only feeds when she is sleepy. I let her get into a good deep sleep before I try to nurse her. She won't nurse when she is awake.

@Appy mine also feeds when she’s sleepy too! It’s the weirdest thing, she will be hungry but wouldn’t eat until unless she’s sleeping

Yes. Same. It's tough because it becomes a vicious cycle where she can't sleep cuz she's hungry And she won't drink unless she's asleep. So it's been tricky to make sure she falls asleep for feeding time. I have just stopped forcing her when she's awake and feed her when she's sleeping almost always.
