24 weeks, intense pelvic pain moving in bed

I’m a back sleeper usually, so I’ve put off laying on my side as it’s super unnatural to me and wasn’t comfortable before pregnancy let alone during. I’ve so far during my pregnancy been sleeping almost sat up, propped up with pillows, however, I’m guessing at some point I’m going to have to give up the ghost and go to side sleeping for third trimester. However, when I did try to sleep on my side(I’ve got a big pregnancy pillow, between the knees and also making sure my ankles are on it too. It’s not super uncomfortable to be on my side but after about 5 minutes, even the tiniest bit of movement with my pelvis creates a really intense soreness in my pelvis, so if I try to move or get more comfortable it’s like stabbing in my pelvis and it’s sorta put me off.😂 From what I’ve read it could be SPD/PGP, but is there anything I can do to help relieve the pain when I roll? I’m almost scared to try laying on my side again cause I don’t want to experience the pain again. Don’t really get any intense pain other than when I’m in bed laying on my side, I’ve got some soreness generally when I’m walking but it’s manageable and I’m not too fussed about that.

I had that happen too I believe it is normal because of all the pressure building up. I took two Tylenol PM before going to sleep and it helped tremendously.

Unfortunately, u can't do anything about it hun 😕 I take dihdrocodeine n it takes the edge off for a bit, but the pains are still there. I'm now 36 weeks n totally over pregnancy. Can't wait to give birth so the pain can just disappear

i’m 38 weeks. Luckily mine didn’t start until maybe 36-37weeks when the head started to engage. Initially it was just turning over in bed like yours, I now waddle tremendously with some pain. Can’t walk far or fast it’s painful. mines definitely SPD. With it starting so early in your pregnancy be prepared for it to worsen. No painkillers but i did buy a pelvic support belt and request to be referred to physio

@S.W yeah, I’m alittle scared it’s this early on and I’ve still so long to go, got my midwife appt next week so will speak to her about it, thanks!

The pain will go as soon as you've given birth. Until then have a pillow between your legs, walk regularly, even going to the toilet l at night, keep your feet together as much as possible like when getting out of the car, don't sit on any seat that reclines like a sofa or the bed, stick to a chair, get on the birthing ball as much as possible to relieve the pain. Hope it gets a little easier x
