Cluster feeding

Bubs is 6 days today and the past few nights have been horrible. He’s up every 5 minutes screaming for a bottle, then after 2-3 gulps he screams and pushes it away and becomes inconsolable until he gets too tired and goes back to sleep. I’m already up 99% of the night because I’m terrified he’s going to stop breathing so I’m watching him like a hawk and I know he’s not starving because he’s averaging 1.5-2oz of milk a feed and he’s eating almost every 2 hours. I’ve never been more physically, emotionally and mentally exhausted.

If you can, I suggest seeing a therapist for postpartum anxiety. It's real and having those coping skills could help. Sounds like your bub may have acid reflux like mine does. Is he breastfed or bottle fed?

Have you tried using a pacifier?

@Caitlin I’m pretty sure I do, I’ll be bringing it up at my one week. He’s bottle fed, so definitely could be acid reflux

A tip, cross one leg over the other and sit your bub on your thigh of the one on top and put your arm behind the head to where it's slightly tilted back. That's the easiest way that I've found to make sure bub is upright

Resting your hand on your knee too. Keeps it steady And tilted perfectly

@Sarah we have. He loved it during the day and most of the night, but when he gets into these fits he either won’t latch onto it or will immediately spit it back out

For the anxiety with breathing I use the owlet with my lo and it’s given me peace of mind 🙌🏼
