Gender bias rant

No point to this post apart from to rant really!Anyone else with a boy/boys find that people ask if you want to try for a girl.. yet not the other way around? A adore having a boy, I never really had a preference but lately people are making me feel like I’ve drawn the short straw and it’s starting to annoy me!! Someone I know who is pregnant actually looked at my little boy playing (in his usually crazy wild way) and said ‘I hope I have a girl!’ And laughed! The only disappointing thing about being a boy mum is the selection of clothes 😂

Never had that myself but that person was thoughtless to say so. I would have said, "why do you say that" and allow her to elaborate on her bias

Nope I’ve had it! I’ve got a girl and people ask when I’m having a boy!! It’s so irritating 😂

Same, I have a girl and people ask me if I want to try for a boy, and suggested a book on what different positions to use 😂 I think it goes both ways

@Caroline oh my gosh! I just don’t understand - maybe the only way to stop this is to have one of each.. if you do it in the right position to get that 😂😂😂

I have a boy too and it annoys me when people say that it would be nice to have a girl next. I know it’s not said with malice but I’d love to have two boys and I’d also love to have a boy and a girl. Its literally stupid like if I had another boy would these people have gender disappointment on my behalf 😵‍💫😝

Your pregnant friend doesn't understand toddlers lol. It doesn't matter if they're a boy or girl they all play like that and constantly try to find out what they can do and still survive like jumping off everything and anything regardless of height with no warning, climbing, being magnetically drawn to any form of water and sticking their head in it. Also the running up and down the length of a room, spinning, walking backwards... Well my daughter does all that anyway. I don't think toddler crazy is gender specific 😅. It's not like 18 month old little girls just sit quietly playing with dolls while boys run round wild. I was pretty sure my daughter broke my tooth last week after she ran full pelt into me and headbutted me. She was totally fine and laughing away I had a bloody lip and thought my tooth was loose ( it wasnt) then she nearly broke my husbands nose playing rough and tumble with him lol. Toddlers are just their own special little category and gender doesn't come into it lol.
