5am

I’ve seen several posts of this as of late. So I’m wondering. Is it a sleep regression thing? My baby’s been waking up around 5am everyday since he turned 11 months a couple weeks ago. It’s so hard bc he wakes up, tries to go back to sleep but can’t. I end up rocking him and he’s back to sleep but wakes up soon after. Then he’s like SO tired and wants to nap sooner than he normally would. Should we adjust something in the day? Or should we just plow thru for another week or so if it’s a regression? He gets 2 naps a day totaling around 2.5-3 hours of day sleep. Don’t let him sleep past 4pm and bed time is 745.

My baby was doing that for about a week and it passed - I think it was a regression. It could also be that he is trying to drop a nap? A little after my baby transitioned to 1 nap. Does he resist his second nap?

@Gia not really. He always doesn’t seem like he wants to go to sleep but ends up falling asleep within 10 minutes. But doesn’t resist. Like isn’t fussing or anything. Starts to suck his thumb and falls asleep. And that nap usually is anywhere from 45min-1.5 hours depending on the first nap. It would be hard dropping to 1 nap bc he wakes up around 11/1130 from the first nap and I would not be able to keep him awake that long even if I bumped bedtime up to 7 or something. He’d be so crabby.

I've read that if his first nap is early it reinforces the early wake ups. Hopefully it's just a phase and it passes soon! Hang in there, I know it sucks :(

Mines doing a bit better with this. One issue we found is that she likes it warmer. Who knew?! We usually keep the house at 68-69, but she's been more easily able to put herself to sleep, back to sleep, and stay asleep at 71-72. She's moved from 5am to 5:55am since we changed the temperature lol

Currently struggling with the 4:30/5am wake ups. Here for advice!

@Tiffany I forsure agree with the temp thing! My baby was constantly waking during the night when it was 68/69 in her room. But once it was like 73 she literally sleeps thru now. Minus the early AM wakings now.
