Stopping breastfeeding

Hello, my baby has hit 13 months and it’s now the right time to stop breastfeeding. She is eating three meals and two snacks a day and doesn’t feed much from me anymore but has really started biting and I have a couple of big work events next month where I’ll be away for over a week. Now feels right! She’s taking a cup of cows milk before bed no problem and doesn’t rely on it during the night anymore. How do I stop!? I’m down to two pumps a day and I don’t pump all of the way to reduce the amount there but still wake up in so much pain with engorged boobs. The health visitor told me to go cold Turkey and just stop. Is this right? How long does it take?

I had my little girl on formula and breast milk and when she turned 1 I reduced a breast feed each day until she no longer had boob milk and instead oat milk she still would touch my chest ect but eventually was no longer interested

Drink peppermint tea and put frozen cabbage leafs inside your bra. Take hot showers or baths and put flannels on them, hand express. Stop one pumping session one week, then stop the second pump the week after. Your boobs will hurt but after a week they will go down x

Hey! I'm no expert and haven't started weaning myself yet (LG is 9 months) but I think cold turkey could be a bit extreme. It could lead to more pain and potentially mastitis for you, and I think you're more likely to be affected by difficult fluctuations in your hormones?
