Sleeping

My 8 week old starting to sleep throughout the night either from 12-7 or 2-9 and I’m just worried about his weight he was born 6lb 12.2 ounces and he weighed 11 lb 11 ounces at his one month appointment. Is it okay to let him sleep and for him to wake up when he hungry or should I keep waking him every 3 to 4 hours?

Yes as long as he has surpassed his birth weight. Enjoy the extra rest 🙂

How many oz of milk do you feed him?

That sounds like a big jump in weight for one month. How much do you feed him each feeding?

I make small babies 5lb 12oz, 6lb 8oz, and 7lb 2oz and I have never woken and will never wake a sleeping baby to feed or do anything else. It’s worked out well so far. Pediatrician says #3 is, “growing like a champ.”

Usually they say they have to be 9 lbs so you're good

@Dalia 4oz

@Laurielle 4oz in breastfeeding and pumping

Mine will be a month old tomorrow and I have never, and will never wake her up to feed her. That’s that mind fk they do at the hospital because they need to keep their weight/nutrients up so that they won’t have to stay in the NICU. Let that baby sleep and you get some to mamas 💜

I would ask the pediatrician

It’s normal for them to wake up when they are hungry unless they are not getting enough with each feed, 4-5 oz every 4hrs is pretty typical for an 8 week old. I would let the baby sleep and get some rest too.
