Anyone find the health visiting service shocking??

I don't know if its a Birmingham thing because people I know under other councils don't have the same thing... if I want an appointment I need to text and ask for an appointment. Baby was born in August and I last saw the HV when he was about 3 months old. I needed to go back but had to cancel the appointment because my baby was in hospital around November time. I phoned multiple numbers and got voice mails, or voice mails saying I no longer work here phone this other number. After phoning multiple numbers over days it said to text a different number for an appointment. I managed to get an appointment and then I text again in January for another appointment and never got a response! I gave up but a few weeks ago I thought I really could do with seeing someone. I phoned the children's centre, again phoned multiple numbers for it to say text for an appointment. The number I needed to text was the same one I text in January! So I text again, a week later they actually text back asking for babies DOB and address. I text back straight away and now another week later no response. Is this is actual joke? Anyone else having this? I'm past the point of caring now and don't even want an appointment anymore. I mean what are the HVs doing all day if you are meant to text for an app but not even getting a reply?? Rant over 🙈 needed to vent because I feel like this is just shocking! Where is the support?

Thats ridiculous, I’d send a formal complaint to pals x

@Angel I was thinking of making a complaint just out of principle 😅 x

@Rebecca honestly I would. I’ve never had anything like that with my health visitors. I know they’re understaffed but the least they could do is text you back x

100% complain! It's similar in dudley. I had an app booked, 45 mins after the app time she called to say she wasn't coming. She then rattled off a list of questions (that she had already asked in a previous convo) Next app was canceled due to the birth Next app we were given a 2 hr window, she turned up near the end of the window and was there for all of 5 minutes asking the sane questions she asked twice before Each time I tried to contact her, she didn't answer and IF she phoned back it was up to a week later. The only time she called me back on the same day was because I called around 5 places in the Black Country asking for her and they all left her a message to call me back 😅

I feel the same. Had my baby’s 9 month review and was given outdated weaning advice😅

I would just go to the GP instead, they have experience and should be the primary care for babies after a few months
