Get rid of the diapers and go straight to underwear. That’s what I had to do with my daughter when we were potty training

@Destiny yes i’ve heard many people doing this! i have a newborn baby as well though and my hubby works from 9 am-8 pm so i’m alone potty training and have my hands full with a baby as well so IF there are any less messy ways that would be appreciated as well!

Start with setting a potty time timer for every 30 minutes then have him sit on the potty no more than 5 minutes and repeat throughout the day. You can alter the time to fit your daily routine and what you’re comfortable with. I have my 2yr old in pull-ups during the day and diapers at night.

And remember everyone’s potty training journey is different, what works for others may not work for you….do what feels right for you Mama!!!

When I potty trained my daughter I also had a newborn as well. This is just a few things I did 1. When she had accident I sat her on the toilet for about 1 min and then had her clean up after herself. So any pee on the floor she would clean with her own cleaning tools and I made it a real “inconvenience” for her. 2. I didn’t use a separate potty just made the bathroom more available to her ( step stool, potty training toilet seat which was less than $20 at Walmart) 3. Positive reenforcement when she did have accidents assuring her accidents happen and it was okay and next time she would try again for improvement 4. I don’t sit in the bathroom with her. I gave her privacy and she would call out for me when she was all done or needed assistance 5. Once we started I ditched pull ups/ diapers ….even at night which was pretty bold of me but I was super determined and she been potty trained since she turned 2

Also what works for me may not work for you. I heard “Oh crap potty training “ was a good book but I didn’t buy it just took tips from the internet and did what worked for us. Usually when she went potty I sat the baby down for tummy time and sometimes I just had to let him cry a little while I worked with. Oh I also didn’t force her to sit on the potty when she didn’t have to… just 20 mins after something to drink and eat ( I learned her cues and how often after she used the bathroom ) I tried the whole every 30 mins or so but it just wasn’t something that worked for us especially with a newborn

I let my little one go naked all day and I encourage her to go to her potty in her room or she will get a time out for using the bathroom on the floor but I always reward her for using the potty and we will do a little dance and just make it fun. I try the panties but she just uses those.

Jessica tiredness is the start… what I’m doing is whenever I wake up before my son I wake him up take off is diape walk him to the toilet quickly… he sit there yawning and Will soon pee-. When it’s middle of day if diaper dry at any time I check then take him to potty. Also sitting down ; idt my son like it…cause sometimes he stand up he’ll start peeing and I’m trying catch it with the trash can 🤦🏽‍♀️ so maybe this will help

We let ours run around naked, and that just resulted in pee all over the house... Until one morning she ripped off her diaper and said, "No more diapers!" She's been pretty good ever since, but it had nothing to do with what we did... she was just ready!
