Potty training

Okayyy..potty training my 2 almost 3 year old and we did the 3 day method a few weeks ago he gets it and if underwear/pamper is left off he’ll take himself to the potty but if we put underwear on him he pees in it. He also WILL NOT pee in public places he’s terrified of the toilet. He also won’t poop in our toilet at home and prefers to do it under the table ….any advice feeling like a failure here lol

I’m following because my daughter does great in the same aspects. We are still struggling when she put underwear on.

Have you got a travel potty? I take ours so it's still familiar as my daughter doesn't use the actual toilet yet. Also put the potty under the table to see if it makes it any better to go on... they're private about it even at this age 😂

I did the three day method too recently and my 3 year old has had a lot of success but plenty of accidents and poop still not in the potty almost ever so I switched from underwear in the morning to pull ups until he has a good emptying then underwear

The video I watched about the 3-day method said that most of them refused to poo in the potty for a while and you have to respect that

That is so good to know. I’m happy to hear im not the only one it can’t last like this forever right lol

He just pooped in the potty this morning! For the second time ever! Nah, use your positive motivations and muster all the patience you can and , time - different kids are ready at different times.too

That’s amazing !! Have any of you ever been guilted for not having them fully potty trained after 3 days ? My mom and sis (who has no kids but has potty trained kids) seem to keep asking me how it’s going and if I’m being consistent and offer unsolicited advice and even to the point of saying “we all told you to do it when he was 2” like what can I do about it now we are where we’re at

That's totally out of line . I'm even of the perspective that it's not good to potty train them too early because of this book I read by a urinologist if that's the right word who specialize with understanding children's constipation and UTIs and he said potty training too early can lead to that so no that's inappropriate for them to be like shaming you no I don't think I've ever gotten shame about it you know praise God but no don't believe them or something

Try getting a home urinal, or also have him go to restroom with you every single time even he doesn’t have to go , my son used to be scared of public restrooms not because of the actual place but because of the hand driers and the loud flushing (which at home is quiet ) after some time my son got used to it .

Floor potty, travel potty in the car. Or you sit behind him and hold him on the public toilets. No undies yet, try just pants commando style Put an extra floor potty under the table? Lol
