How long do you bleed after a miscarriage?

I think I just had a miscarriage but I’m not sure. I keep hearing different stories of some woman having a period throughout their pregnancy but only lasting about 3 days. And some saying that they bled for a week or more and very heavy and cramps when they had a miscarriage. I didn’t experience any cramps or back pain just bleeding. My “period” came Saturday but it’s done now. Prior to that I took a pregnancy test and it came out positive. Not sure what to think. Maybe my subconscious mind is still in denial. Idk… Advice?

depending on how far along you are it can differ . You'll still test positive for a few weeks if you have, it might be best to speak to your GP as they can refer you for blood tests. Sorry to hear this, it's so confusing in early pregnancy as you can implantation bleed. Hope everything is ok ❤️

I am sorry for your loss . Sounds like a chemical. You might bleed as long as a period.

Aw sorry to read this. I had one last year. They tell you to wait 2 weeks. And test again. As it takes that long to get the hormone out of your system. But bleeding is usually like a heavy period but if you are going thru multiple pads am hour. Ring a&e or out of hours early pregnancy unit x

My sister is 12 weeks pregnant and when she was 7-8 weeks she was bleeding for days and convinced she was having a miscarriage and her doctor wouldn’t up her appointment to check so she had to wait till her 10 week appointment and everything was okay with baby. I know it’s stressful but try to not get too much in your head until you go to the doctors

Yeah go to the doctor to see what's going on. Its different for everyone.

I would go to the doctor. I tested positive (day of my expected period)and then miscarried a few days later. I didn't bleed much more heavily than usual. When I had my loss at 20 weeks I had 3.5 weeks of postpartum bleeding. Then immediately had the period from hell. It was worse than anything I had previously experienced. The next period after that was about the same. I am thankful that I could stay home because I was leaking everywhere. It was worse than my post partum bleeds.
