@Kara this one is for my mom but I don’t think she’ll care if it’s not perfect. My dad would say the imperfections is what make it unique. I’m not entering it in a competition so as long as I’m actually able to finish it and the blocks aren’t completely cattywompus I’ll be happy. I now give even more props to people who quilt because this isn’t for the weak lol.

Those look great!! I recently started quilting as well. The BEST advice I've gotten is "a finished quilt is better than a perfect quilt." If you're a perfectionist it's easy to get lost in the little details, and quilting is a LOT of work. But you won't notice the little mistakes when you're surrounded by a physical reminder of your dad's life. Can't wait to see the finished piece!
