That’s a really normal time to get your forest ultrasound?

@Shaylee yeah… scary to wait so long

@Allex it sure can be. I found out at 3 weeks and 4 days and I got mine done at 7 weeks.

@Shaylee I found out about the same time too! When are you due?!

I’m due dec 4th :)

7-8 weeks is usually the earliest they do it unless you have medical reasons (aka ivf, previous frequent miscarriages) with my daughter I didn’t get my first ultrasound till 12 weeks.

@Caitlin wow that’s crazy!! I feel better knowing that thank you

some people don’t get theirs done until 12 weeks even, 8 weeks 4 days still waiting for mine as my first apt is thursday for blood work and exam and they said ultrasound would be 5 days later

I had one at 6 weeks and 7 weeks only due to things I had going on I have one at 12 then 18 weeks

I think I’m about 6 weeks. My first ultrasound is may 20th

I'm getting one Thursday at 6w4d only because we are traveling so want to make sure baby isn't ectopic.

All the OBs in my city are booked out. I'm having a hard time finding an OB to scan for 8 weeks and I'm at 7. You're on track. How exciting!

@Allex tbh the bit later you can wait the better. To more they are able to see. And the better you will see. With my son I had one at 8weeks and honestly didn’t make me feel any kind of attachment because he just looked like a blob at that stage. With my daughter I felt attached after my first ultrasound because around 12 weeks they start looking human.

My OB isn’t seeing me untill I’m 10 weeks and I think that is too long

I still havent had mine. My appointment is the 14th ill be 10weeks by then.

I’ll be 7+5 at my first ultrasound this Friday! Totally normal!

I'll also be 7 weeks on Thursday! I had an early ultrasound last week but it was too early to check everything they wanted to, so I'm going back in next week for another - so getting one at 8 weeks seems ideal

All my friends and family got their first at 12w. I was booked at 12w too but then i had major pain and other problems and had an earlier one because of that.

They originally had me scheduled for my first scan at 10/11 weeks 😳 but I called them and bugged them about it being so late and they moved it up to 8 weeks

I’m 7w2d and I have mine tomorrow. Eight weeks is a great time for one because you should be able to see heartbeat where when they are earlier, you don’t always do 🙂

I'm 8w5d and I don't have one until the 7th. I'm OK with it because I definitely have symptoms like my first, I just go to a free clinic first so I don't wait the 12 weeks and get the heartbeat, how the baby is measuring, and then make an appointment with an OBGYN

My doctor told me I was pregnant at 4 weeks and didn’t get my ultrasound till 8 weeks they usually wait till you can hear the baby’s heat beat to have you come in if not moms freak out

Mine is on the 7th can’t wait!

I got mine today but I lucked out. I won't have my next until 13 weeks.

I just had another one I had one at 7 weeks and one at 9 heard the heart beat both times. Going strong at 176

There are some clinics/organizations that will provide your first ultrasound for free. I'm in SD and I found this clinic called CAPS. They aim to support women during early pregnancy, recognizing that some doctors may not schedule ultrasounds before 12 weeks, and understanding the anxiety we feel while waiting for confirmation that everything is okay! Check on Google; your city might have an organization that offers free ultrasounds to provide reassurance ❤️🙏🏻.
