You guys should research this then…
Baby gums are super strong and hard so it’s not entirely true that you have to wait for molars to come in… babies learn to eat with their gums first than with their teeth. The strength of their gum or almost the same as with teeth.
It’s not about their gums it’s about breaking the starch down inside their stomach and about not making the enzyme that is required to break it down at that age They said when they start showing their molars that’s when they start producing this enzyme that helps break down the starch It says babies grow up and end up having GI problems and such as they get older because of feeding starch so early on…
I’d love to see the evidence based data on this. I’ve worked in healthcare for 20+ years, I’ve yet to see anything of the sort and I have to stay on top of stuff like this for my career.
I say gums because the baby’s can chew with their gums and break things down. Even older people that don’t have teeth anymore and eat oatmeal with their gums. A lot of things have changed since the older days many pediatricians recommend you give baby’s oatmeal barely and some other stuff by the time they’re 6 months. And there’s also lots of baby that don’t start getting teeth until after they’re a year old… but like the other person said if you don’t want to give your child starch you don’t have to. You’re the man’s you decide what right for your baby.
It’s not about me not wanting my baby to eat certain things. I posted here to see if anyone else knew about this and what they were doing and their thoughts. All I’ve gotten so far is “I haven’t heard” or “gums will break it down” when it’s not about the gums…

You’re talking about the baby’s molars and about enzymes and starch. All of which I sent you a search which shows it is perfectly fine for them to consume starch because they have the enzymes with or without molars
Don’t believe everything you see on social media. Like I always say to my friend it rots the brain from good knowledge.
TikTok isn’t always a credible source for information. I’d look into research based data and speaking to your pediatrician.
I’ve never heard of not feeding starch until molars came in. If that were the case, my first wouldn’t have eaten them until almost 18 months old. Molars are the last to come in. You can serve any foods except honey once they’re ready to start solids. We just give baby appropriate sized pieces of whatever we’re eating. Last night she had refried beans and pear. The night before was avocado and tomato.
