Colic or pain?

My LO (13 weeks) has been colicky ever since she has been born she was prescribed Gaviscon at 2 weeks old due to serve reflux projectiling across the room which didn’t help so now she’s on omezaprole and a Gaviscon sachet if needed but they both seem to wear off pretty fast. Is this normal for a baby to cry like this for hours? Even if we hold her bounce her etc. she’ll still cry. We sometimes resort to giving her calpol at night so she’ll settle which I don’t like doing too much but she seems to be in pain. The doctors fob us off as she is gaining weight still as she’s always on the boob. Is this just colic? We do everything we can a walk outside in the fresh air but she doesn’t ever seem to settle much.

Honestly i feel for you this was my boy and we done everything in the end he was put on omoprazole and also dairy free milk and it seriously helped…maybe ask for omoprazole hun… I hope baby and you get some relief as I really do know how this feels 😭😭 xxx

We had very similar and within 2 weeks of cutting out dairy and soya our daughter was like a completely different baby! I know it’s not fun, but I’d definitely recommend giving it a try - it’s made our lives so much easier. We also use Gaviscon twice a day. Sending loads of strength - I know how exhausting it can be

We also went through this, lacto free milk helped us a little, but honestly all I can say is stay strong and you will get through this phase, taking turns help soothe baby where you can do you don’t go crazy, our LO got better at 4 months ish and just figured their bellies are still developing at this age so with time they can handle milk/food better, you could always ask the GP if they recommend starting purees early to help keep the food down x

Hey I always sat my babies up right and sat them up for at least 15 mins after having milk .. also if you’re feeding With a bottle never shake the bottle this causes bubbles . stir with a sterile spoon. I know it’s hard I suffered with this with my first born and after trying this method my twins never had colic x

Could it be cow milk protein allergy/intolerance. We had a rough time with our little one and fobbed off with colic until health visitor said she thought it was intolerance. A change of milk to prescribed nutramigen was a game changer for us. If she's unsettled the majority of the time I'd be tempted to speak with health visitor and ask to try prescribed milk to see if it helps! 🙂
