Two MCs in a row

Hi ladies, has anyone experienced 2 MCs in a row? I had a miscarriage in march sadly at 6 weeks and ovulated about two weeks after, pregnant again in April and sadly another MC now (just reached 5weeks)... I've got one beautiful daughter and happened on the first try so feels very worrying now with recurrent MCs Should I go get tested or just try again? Anyone else experienced this and then went on to have healthy pregnancies? Is it safe to try straight after an MC again? Thanks so much ladies

Hey, so I also have a daughter who we concieved first try with no complications. I have also had 2 miscarriages this year, one at 5 and one at 6/7 weeks (currently coming to the end of this one now). I had a hospital appointment yesterday for a scan to confirm, and they said national guidance is 3 in a row for further testing BUT each trust is different depending on your location. I'm Birmingham based and they can refer you for tests after 2, which they have now done for me. Worth speaking to your GP or your early pregnancy unit and finding out further info. I'm so sorry you're in such a similar situation to me, it's absolutely heartbreaking, sending love đź’› x

Thank you so much for this, it's super helpful! Praying for us both that our next pregnancies are healthy :) x

Yes, I have. I just had my third MC in a row after a healthy baby first try. I'm going to get tested for postnatal thyroiditis. We don't have any answers yet. But I'm in a similar situation and we are looking for answer too.

Wishing you all the best and so sorry for your loss, if you get any updates, I'd love to hear about it, any guidance would be great

Sorry for your loss. I had a miscarriage in Sept at 8 weeks, and just had a miscarriage at 18 weeks on 4/14. I’m now shopping around for high risk OBs. I’m not happy with my current. I need someone who is going to monitor me more frequently. I am also 36 (which most consider high risk) but my current OB thinks my first pregnancy in 2022 was successful so everything now is just “suspicious”. I would get tested if your OB allows (I was told 3 miscarriages before testing). I was also told I could try right away 🤷🏼‍♀️

Thanks so much for your reply, wishing you all the best

Did any of you try progesterone?

Not yet. We are going to run a few tests first. I'm a little cautious when it comes to using hormones without a diagnosis.

Hi similar situation here. I have a little big 2yo no complications. I have since had 3 MCs in a row in the last 6 months. They refer for bloods in our trust after the 2nd but won’t do further testing til the 3rd. I am currently in the 6 week wait post miscarriage period for my bloods to be taken. I have no answers as of yet. They sent my last pregnancy off for testing so I am waiting those results too. I have just turned 30 and would say I am great health wise apart from newly formed health anxiety which is great! I tried progesterone on the second miscarriage but it wasn’t going to work as we discovered it was a blighted ovum. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. It’s a horrible wait and a worse journey, but really made easier for me having these forums x

Thanks so much for this, praying for best outcome for us all! The wait is very nerve wracking. What do you mean by the 6 week wait? How come they can't take blood earlier?

@Nala I’ve got to wait 6 weeks after my last miscarriage to have my bloods taken, for hormones, blood clotting factors, thyroid issues etc at the fertility clinic. They say we have to wait 6 weeks after a negative test in the UK to ensure our hormones have gone back to what our normal may be x

Ah okay I see! Thanks so much for this!
