My pediatrician recommended I try a drink that has castor oil in it to go into labor, I didn't get to try it tho. I wonder if I can find the paper with what he wrote. I can look in the morning.

Don’t do this as it can slow down the labor process and cause diarrhea and vomiting for you as the mother it can also cause false contractions which could put stress on the baby instead try having sex or doing lots of squats I walked up and down stairs very slowly at 38 weeks gave birth a month ago naturally very easy very fast and didn’t tear at all good luck to you mama

I tried this with my last pregnancy but it did not work, it actually seems like it prolonged my pregnancy and I'm also not sure if this is what caused my baby to have a bowel movement right inside of me as he was being delivered!! I have read it worked though but not sure!

I drunk Pineapple juice and went into labor a few hours labor

Don't do it! Prunes, curb walking, regular walking, sitting on an exercise ball, even sex helps (apparently semen is similar to pitocin as per my midwife, you can hold it in for a bit), however I wouldn't recommend castor oil - I haven't heard good stories.

really depends on ur body i’ve heard different things , but my doc told me not to drink it because it causes severe diarrhea and rarely labor

@Catherine (Cat) definitely sex lol that started my labor finally at 40+5

Don’t drink it. You might feel awful. Try sex, long walk every day, some very spicy food if you can digest it. And if you are desperate, ask the midwife to do the swipe. 🤞

Babies are born and labour begins when they secrete a hormone to your body to say their lungs have developed enough to be born. Castor oil can be really dangerous and there are no proven ways to naturally induce labour. Honestly just relax and enjoy this time as much as you can before baby comes and your world is turned upside down. You’ll also need all the energy you can get for labour and birth so I’d avoid too many long walks etc which will tire you out. Babies chose their birthdays x
