What do you guys do to give veggies?

I feel like I've tried everything
And she knows when we try and trick her, she either won't eat it all together or she will spit out the veggie and eat the rest

I got too excited at 6 months giving solids and I started with fruit, now whenever I ask for assistance I get told "should've started with veggies" like yes I already know that🤦 that wasn't what I asked

She loves meat and the only veggie she ate was zucchini and she only ate one of the pieces and she won't eat it when she's in her high chair 🤷

Have a picnic (change the environment), make dips for the veggies or steam and add butter/cheese, oh and spices. Make them taste good! You can even make veggie tots. Or smoothies and throw in some veggies like spinach or cauliflower.

thank you

At 15 months she weighed 22 pounds and at around 16 months old we had to move states and then I gave birth to her brother and she started eating less even food she loved she didn't want, good days she ate okay ish and not so good days she didn't want to eat barely anything and at her 18 month appointment she weighed 21 pounds

You're welcome. I hope that helps. I'm not sure what you've tried. I have just learned with mine that I have to keep trying different options. She's never had issues with veggies, but we've had issues with liquids, fussiness in her highchair, brushing her teeth and bath time.

do you use sippy cups? Mine drinks from hers sometimes but most of the time she spills them, with every different type of cup she is determined to find a way to make it spill no matter what drink is in there

We have tried a few different sippy cups with Life Factory being the one we use the most. She prefers just drinking freely from my cup (open cup) or using a straw, but not her own cup with a silicone straw, it has to be mine.

For us, the only way he likes them is if I toss them with olive oil, a little salt and garlic powder and stick them in the air fryer to get a little crisp. He loves asparagus, broccoli and green beans that way.

Also, I always give him the veggie first. If I start with the other stuff (protein, carb) he will eat that and ignore the veggie

Thank you guys

Yummy Toddler Food (website, FB or IG) has great suggestions! Many of the veggies in her recipes are blended/puréed before adding them so they’re undetectable!

Avatar

Don’t listen to those ppl or beat yourself up. I started with veggies and my LO loved veggies when he was in the pure stage but now at 18months he’ll only eat tomato and it’s not even a real veggie! Maybe avocado if I’m lucky

Avatar

Don’t listen to them u r doing a good job. I’m in the same situation rn my daughter won’t eat any veggies maybe tomatos right now she’s surviving off fruits n hard boil eggs. I sometimes make smoothies and add veggies like Spanish or kale it’s the only way I can get her to eat them.

Avatar

Pouches or get the glass bottles of puree and put a straw in it.

Avatar

Don’t beat yourself up. My LO used to eat every veggie I put in front of her and now she picks around them all. Just keep offering them, and eventually they’ll (hopefully 🤞🏼🙏) start eating them again.

I haven't been able to try any suggestions yet but we just gave her corn randomly and she is eating the insides of them and spitting out the skin but it's a start so I'm happy lol

Am I crazy for wanting to do the drive again?

So Friday we drove 2 1/2 hours away to spend the weekend away with my parents. Came back yesterday and the fridge and freezer had been off the whole weekend so that really stressed me out as we did a big shop before we left (even though I was adamant I didn’t want to 😒) anyway the kids are WILD today. I have a 1 and 3 year old and they just have not stopped. The house is just a mess with our bags,my partner put a food bag on the kitchen counter which leaked oil EVERYWHERE. Just little things adding up and I’m itching to get out the house. Where we live there’s nothing here for kids so now I’m debating getting us in the car and driving 2 hours away to see my mum and nan 😅 I literally don’t know what to do with myself,my partners on night shifts so he’s obviously asleep in the day and we don’t see him at night. Just need someone to tell me if I’m being crazy for wanting to do the drive

Am I overthinking ?

Hi mamas. Yesterday I took my 3 year old son to meet with a potential new babysitter at her in home daycare. I was looking for him to attend 3 days a week while I work.
When we arrived, my son was only 10 minutes into a nap, but he woke up fine and was very excited. He played with the other 2 children that were there, (ages 4 & 2 1/2), and checked out the fish tank with the other kids. The lady was really nice and we chatted about her schedule, day to day activities, etc. She said that my selected days were perfect, and that she’d send all paperwork and info to me to sign and give back to her. She does have an 8 mo old baby, and my son did bring him toys and tickled the baby for a moment, which she laughed at. Shortly after, another child hit the fish-tank with their hand, and then my child did the same a few times. I corrected him each time and redirected him. When it was time to leave, he was running from me and didn’t want go, (which I thought was a good sign) and I went to pick him up and he fell back and hit his head on her coffee table. Those were the only things that happened during the visit. Overall, I was happy with the environment and we said we’d see her Monday.
I get home last night and get this message… am I wrong to be put off by her working? Because I am not sure what made her come to that conclusion. Maybe im overthinking it.

Am I a drama queen?

8-month pregnant, I stay at home and my husband works in a demanding field. He literally spend weekends on the couch, on his phone. Whines when we have to go out for errands, throw the bin away, or set some things for the baby. He doesn’t help me at home whatsoever. I feel like he’s totally uninvested and this breaks my heart. We have no sexy time. No romantic moments. When I’m getting too mad or complaining, he says that I just want to vent to annoy him.
I really don’t see myself like this in the future… HELP 😔

In home daycares or facility daycares?

Up until now, my almost 2 year old has only ever been watched by family. Now our situation has changed and we need to start looking into daycare for her, but I honestly have no idea where to begin! What do you Mamas prefer and why?

It’s so hard to chat with a mom on here when they literally disagree with everything you say in a sort of passive aggressive way.

For example, we’re just trying to get to know each other and I just mentioned that my kids go to school except for my youngest who stays home with me. And she’s like “oh well we home school I could never send my kids to school”
Which is fine I get it. I support all means of education.
But then I’m like “I like to go work out at the gym a couple evenings a week while my husband watches the kids”
And she’s like “oh I don’t like leaving my husband with more to do after he already worked all day”
And then I mention my 4 year old is watching bluey while I take a quick break. And she’s like “oh we don’t do tv in our house”.

It feels like literally anything I have to say is immediately negated and judged.

Meals for 6 month old

I started weaning my little one at 5 months. We started off with just 1 vegetable a day and gradually started to introduce another one in with it. Weaning has been going really well but I am now wanting to go from just vegetables to pureed meals. My baby will be 7 months this month. I just wondered did people make their own sauces for like curry and bolognaise, or did you buy jars. If you got jars what was the best ones to go for as I know I need to get low salt content. Thank you
