Doesn't stop crying!

I need advice.. My little one is 5 weeks old, but anytime he is awake he just does nothing but cry. I can't put him in bouncer, swing, anything unless he's sleeping. He was put on Gaviscon by the dr for reflux as he was screaming taking bottles and being very sick but I'm not sure it's helping as he is so unsettled 🥺 it's breaking me to see him so upset, and I have a 3 year old that I feel has had so much screen time since this little guy came along because he just screams for hours on end. I just don't know what's wrong with him nothing seems to settle him until he is in a deep sleep then he is fine for a few hours.

Hi lovely have you considered seeing a chiropractor or osteopath?

My wee one was put on omeprazole at 3 weeks old due to reflux. It did help us. We are still on it now and he's 6.5 months old 🥴

Not sure if u are aware but Gavisgone makes babies constapaited just incase that's maybe what's wrong with him. X

My little one was like this, turns out it was CMPA not reflux! Took her to a osteopath too which helped lots as she had tension in her neck so hated being on her back x

@Jenny I didn't even think of that will definitely need to look into it!

My other little boy had reflux really bad and was on double dose gavison and omperazole when he was little but didn't cry this much!

@Niamh did your little one have any other symptoms? As I was basically told by the dr that because he's more constipated than upset stomach (even before gaviscon) and that he doesn't have a rash etc then it couldn't be CMPA

No! Only symptom was screaming all day every day and really struggled with wind. They dismissed us for ages because she didn’t have a rash, but after 6 months put us on a trial of CMPA milk and she was a different baby after a week. Keep pushing them if things don’t improve x

Baby wearing could help a bit with reflux and being close to you he might be able to settle a bit better giving you time for your toddler as well. But would hear a second opinion for reflux. If he's constipated we used to to belly massage every night before bed, there's tons of video that show how to do it properly to help the digestive tract work properly. Good luck

It can help massively. Has done for my little one! I hear that a lot of the cat seat aversion can be due to comfort and the bodywork can help relive tension for them. How they are born can be really impactful as to how their comfort levels are and how their tension is. Lmk if you need recommendations im in glasgow x
