Long Hair

Any mommas have any advice for how to keep your hair up in a healthy and flattering way? I have long hair (and love it) but my baby is constantly grabbing and pulling at it. I usually resort to messy buns but I’ve noticed that it is starting to damage my hair. Usually I wash it every other day and always have it up in a messy bun. Any tips/advice would be much appreciated!

A long braid down the back is helpful! But I also use a thickening haircare line to help me go a few days in between washing. Feel free to message me 🩷

maybe pull it back and down instead of up , that’s what i do with mine. i’ve noticed the same even tho i have locs

when i get it done i ask for styles that are baby friendly 😭

Im gonna start using hair masks more often because of this happening to me in the future as well as fear of brittle hair. I like to keep my hair up in a high, kind of ballerina bun where it just wraps around easily. I love a messy bun, but it started to effect my hair too. Braids are a good idea! Maybe even check out Pinterest for baby proof hairstyles

I do a slicked back tight pony into a braid which is very clean girl/aesthetic with cute mini hoops! Makes me feel so put together! I actually use a hair oil and leave in conditioner to slick it back so instead of damaging it, it like marinates all day and then when I do wash it out it’s silky!

I’m extremely tender headed and wearing it up gives me headaches, so I only ever do a low braid down the back or swept to the side and that helps.

I wear a silky bonnet at night and have noticed my hair lasts 2-3 days in between washes. I just wake up and brush it a little and still looks like I have a nice blow out.

I French braid or do a regular braid every shower and then take it out when I leave the house and my hair is always looking nice but it’s also nice for when I’m home and it’s out of the way

Low bun with front pieces pullled out.
