Hair help!

Any advice massively appreciated! I am unsure of my daughters hair type and feeling like the products I'm using aren't working so well anymore. Her hair is so dry and frizzy at the moment. Currently wet it every day and use cantu for kids cream. Any advice of products, techniques, brushes would be so appreciated! ❤️Will attach pics!

Cantu is rubbish that will be drying it out guarentee it. One of mine is a nightmare for washing and styling. Its just a case of making them put up and shut up im afraid. Its being done either kicking and screaming or being quiet so best get used to it. Thats what i tell mine anyway esp with how thick and tight their hair is, it HAS to be done. Tough love over here. Id get yourself a denman brush, a detangler like kinky curly knot today and possibly a light leave in. With her hair type the kinky curly might be enough on its own as its moisterises as well as detangles. Avoid all oils and maybe use a leave in mixed in a spray bottle with water so its not too heavy/greasy on her hair. Aussie do a curly hair leave in which works good ive heard

@Gigi L great advice, thank you! X

Yes I agree Cantù is trash. Her hair is similar to my daughters, I normal wash once a week, at the moment I use Camille ginger shampoo and mielle Bantu and mint conditioner, but since before her birth I always add some honey to my conditioners because I feel they never quite do it if I don’t. I oil her scalp afterwards. And use a light hair milk and homemade spray of rosemary water and aloe Vera juice to help with moisture, to style l, afterwards i’d only spray and use the leave in hair milk if it’s dry. Don’t leave her hair out. Simple or complex it has to be in a style because if not the tangles that will come. At the moment she refuses a bonnet. I also have the tangle teaser for her hair. I’ll add some of my favorite YouTube hair influencers

https://m.youtube.com/@Naptural85 She has tons of playlists. I’d look at the one for kids but also most everything is so good. /m.youtube.com/@CurlyProverbz She has massive amounts of information Even if you can’t make your own products you can always take store brought ones and add oils and honey and natural things to them to help make it better. I feel no one product has help me personally that much and o always end up switching, unless I make something or add things to a store brought product. but I have 4c hair, my daughter is like 3a/3b with her I feel it’s finding things that don’t weight it down.

https://www.instagram.com/heybambino_?igsh=MWl3eG9oeXAwdmk5dg== Here also is a IG account of some cute styles. She has a TikTok too. My daughter’s hair isn’t that long but many of the styles can still be done. It’s good for me because I can’t cornrow just simple braids but it does help to keep my daughter’s hair even in simple beads and twist to avoid tangles.

But mostly Camille rose.

@Wendi thank you so much!! Will take a look at all of this xx

@Wendi I will definitely have to try these products on my son's hair when his actually gets long enough to do something with it. He is currently 9 months old. His hair is curly and already frizzy, and he is definitely going to have mine and his dad's hair type when he is older. I honestly don't know what I would do for his hair because I still have no clue what to do or the right products to use for my hair either. 😅 I have not found the right product that would fit best and help my hair type all these 26 years of living. I feel hopeless.

I use different products on my mixed children's hair I use Aussie kids for curly hair detangeler leave in conditioner and olive miracle leave in conditioner and I put coconut oil in their hair as well

I use apple cider vinegar and rosemary water mixed in a bottle with a little essential oil like tea tree, or frankincense, something antibacterial and soothing. Massage and work it into his hair and scalp. Comb his hair with a wide set comb! Rinse. Towel dry, wiping the towel down is head to the back of his neck only. then spray in some home made rosemary water. And comb and style. Rosemary water is very hydrating and brings a lovely shine to hair and makes the curls pop. You’ll find the same with vinegar. Don’t use white vinegar though. And you might find different textures or coarseness in different parts of the head. So I use oil at the back of his head and his hair drinks it right up. Also when combing or brushing their hair. I work the brush through until I get to a knot. then I hold the hair and Either finger detangle or hold the hair and comb it out until it’s gone and then brush the hair from root to tip. Otherwise it will just hurt and they’ll want to go.

Amazing advice everyone, thanks so much for taking the time to reply!! I've invested in some new products already ❤️❤️ her hair is already looking better!

My daughter used to hate having her hair washed. I started washing it in the sink and I'd put on something for her to watch. It made a huge difference! no more crying since. I then transitioned her back to the bath and I now can wash her hair without her freaking out :)

@Feyi thank you! Will try that one! I dread hair wash day, she's cried so much before she's made herself sick! Xx
