What to do

So I’m thinking off buying my 6 month old a cot as she’s been in my bed since newborn however I’m scared of putting her in it because if Sid’s i know she’s 6 months so it’s unlikely however he can still happen (I also love her in my bed as it helps me sleep) and I’m not sure wether to get one and maybe use it for the daytime for her naps so I’m not sure what to do

My Girl is also 6 months, during the day time I let her sleep in her bed and at night she co-sleeps with me just because the same reason you said it helps me sleep so much better.

@Raya that’s what I was thinking of doing she can nap in it while I’m doing bits like cleaning and at night she can sleep with me because I get so scared of her not waking up I know it’s rare but it’s still happens

6 months is the minimum. if you're happy with how things are then why bother? There's no rush. Around the world some kids sleep with their parents into their teens.

You’re going to need one eventually anyway so you might as well, my daughter only uses her cot to sleep in during the day and sometimes I’ll put her in there with some toys while I’m cleaning so she stays put because she crawls

@Hayley not necessarily. Neither of my children have ever used a cot both cosleep and then went straight to a bed. A cot isn’t a necessity.

@Hayley I'm like Kirsty my older son never had a cot, had mattresses on the floor and straight to a single bed. Have a small cot now as I wanted to side car it but it isn't necessary.

@Savannah yes I understand you mama xx you got to do what feels right to you xx

We are just going straight to a floor bed. We are 18 months and he still cosleeps but we have introduced his own bed and letting him slowly transition to his own floor mattress
