Aspirin?

Anyone else taking it? I’m on 150mg a day and just worried about taking it even though I know it’s being recommended.

I also have to take aspirin as I had Pre-eclampsia with my daughter! I didn’t have any issues taking aspirin in my previous pregnancy. I think I was advised to stop taking it around 34 weeks in my previous pregnancy xx

do you take 150mg aswel? Xx

I was also told to take aspirin in my first pregnancy because of pre eclampsia and did have to get induced as my preeclampsia did turn into eclampsia. I’ve been told to take it in my pregnancy now but still so unsure! X

I have been prescribed it as I had hypertension in pregnancy with my daughter and ended up being induced because I was so poorly! X

@Jess I’ve got to take it due to having a gastric sleeve and being pregnant through IVF but it just scares me, I’ve already being on blood thinners though. Just scares me taking any medication. Xx

I've just been prescribed it as they said there was a risk of baby being small. They told me it was nothing to worry about and my sister who is a nurse said it's such a low dose it should be fine too, all it's doing is increasing my blood flow ☺️

I’m on aspirin too. (High bp last time, raised BMI and twin pregnancy this time) we prescribe it to so many women now it’s pretty standard Usually advised to stop at around 36 weeks

@Jai have you being prescribed 150mg? Just wondered if that’s the correct dose, I’m sure my doctor said one tablets a day but on the box it says 2 daily only prescription and I’m worried if it’s one 75mg tablet or two to make it up to 150mg🤦🏼‍♀️ and I’m scared to not take it due to being on blood thinners xx

@Sarah I feel like I’m asking everyone, are you on 150mg? Is that a low dose? Xx

@Ceri-Ann that makes me feel better I guess I I just get abit of anxiety sometimes. Xx

Hiiii I’ve been told to take aspirin 150mg daily too due to previous pre-eclampsia with my son. 150mg is classed as a ‘low dose’ 300mg is classed as a ‘high dose’. I’ve stopped taking mine due to making my son projectile whilst I’m nursing him 🫠but do not worry girl!!! You are on a low dose and it is safe!!🫶🏼hope this helps you! (I work in a pharmacy)

I have been prescribed the same dosage as I got high blood pressure at 40 weeks with my last pregnancy so it is to lower the chances of that happening again this time. Definitely take it. It is safe

@Sarah yup I'm on 150mg which is a low dose ☺️

I’m on 150g too, like a lot of the other comments I also had Pre eclampsia in my last pregnancy. I’m sure it has to be stopped somewhere in the third trimester tho x

I’m supposed to start taking it today (from 12 weeks) & I’m feeling the exact same! I’ve been advised to take 2 75mg a day, with the research I’ve done it seems perfectly safe but also like you I have my doubts 🩵 all these comments are very reassuring tho!

I took 150mg in my first pregnancy, they’ve recommended i take it again this time round x

Thankyou everyone for your comments! It’s completely reassured me that it’s safe! Thankyou 💙

I was so worried about taking it last pregnancy and had absolutely no issues what so ever! I didn’t start taking it until 17 weeks because I kept putting it off.

@Sarah I’m 12 weeks and just started taking it. Just want to have my 12 week scan and know everything’s ok. Scans in 7 days though. Not long to wait now. X

Also I wouldn’t worry about the baby being small risk, I ended up with a chunky 9lbs3 baby girl 🤣🤣

Been on it since a positive pregnant test this end (due to a potential blood clotting disorder causing repeat miscarriages… although never actually had the blood test to confirm I do have the disorder as we found out we were pregnant again before the test 🙈)! We were told it’s perfectly safe, and will stay on it until 36 weeks! All was well at my 12 week scan, wouldn’t stress! There was actually a famous fertility doctor recommending everyone takes it in pregnancy to prevent blood clots, preeclampsia and small birth weight babies (as frequently all these go unidentified until too late)… they were pushing to make aspirin standard for every pregnant woman not just those identified as higher need- very interesting to watch- if the Dr name comes back to me I’ll post it on here! X

I've been taking it since the day I found out at week 4 (I've had 2 mc prior to this and since diagnosed with APS) and so far I am 14 weeks and also on daily injections xx

I’m also on 150mg, well starting tomorrow I will be x

Yes started at 12 weeks, one twice a day 75mg each x

@Sarah that scares me 🤣🤣 as I was a big baby myself aha and pushing a 9lb baby out doesn’t appeal to me🤦🏼‍♀️ xx

I’m just dreading the next one as they normally get bigger the second time around 🤣 wish me luck!

@Sarah haha you’ve got this 💪🏼.. this is my first time having a baby as my first child my partner carried, are they usually right about estimated size? Xx

@Hannah yes please I’d like to look at that if you remember! I’m glad a lot of woman have taken it or taking it and everything’s still fine! 🥰 makes me so much more at ease now xx

@Sarah my Midwife prescribed me some I don’t have high anything at all but she said I’m at risk for preeclampsia and told me to take it once 12 weeks

I'm on 150mg asprin. This is my first pregnancy, due to my BMI I'm a higher risk for pre-eclampsia. From my understanding 150mg is quite a low dose.
