Perineal bottle

Salam girls. I’m wondering is it worth buying a perineal bottle for postpartum or is a lota / bodna the same thing? 😂 has anyone used one after birth?

Yes yes yes!!! It just its a lot easier to use. Theres so much going on esp if you have stitches etc and i feel like thats what helped me keep clean and avoid infection! They’ll say youre fine to use toilet paper etc after but personally i just didnt feel clean so for me it was great. I feel like a lota can work but the perineal bottle with the extending neck is worth buying

I liked using the perineal bottle and i kept using it as like a portable lota because the one i got came with a fabric bag. better than using plastic water bottles 😭 Also I liked it a lot postpartum because i had a 3rd degree tear and it was too painful to touch the stitches with my hand and to bend over to get the lota to reach the backdoor with my stitches

100% worth it. The aim is really good to help the stinging when peeing! X

Trust me get the bottle!!! I will use it forever.

I had 2nd degree tear with baby no1 😭

I just used a squeezy top water bottle for when i gave birth the 1st time and it works the same as a peri bottle. Fill it up to the top and squeeze away. Saved my stitchs and im doing the same again.

Ive packed 1 in hospital bag, 1 in all the toilets to use as im due to give birth soon.

Oh also use warm water hun and start spraying water before you pee, helps dilute and stops the sting. Then pat dry, air dry if possible by laying on the bed on a towel and then spray spritz for bits on pad and everything between your legs. You wont feel any soreness in sha Allah and heal quickly x

Peace of mind please

I shot up at 4am last night and had the urge to check my little boy who sleeps in a cot next to our bed.
For the first time he has rolled over and was sleeping on his stomach, my heart dropped.
I was so scared that I picked him up to make sure he was okay and he was just sound asleep…

What are we supposed to do if they roll over in their sleep?! He’s almost 6 months old and I’m prettified of him rolling and it being a different outcome if I don’t wake up..

Just need some peace of mind that this is
okay?

Moving 18 week old to her own room

Just looking for some advice really. I know at this age (18 weeks) she will most likely be going through sleep regression BUT I have been thinking for a while now about the time to put her in her own cot.. she’s in a next to me one at the moment and is constantly hitting the sides with her feet and she’s waking up so so much! Has any other mums moved their babies to their own room?

We have the owlet sock and camera so of course would keep an eye on her and I’m planning on sleeping in the room with her to begin with just to see if she sleeps any better. I know it’s advised 6 months due to SIDS but feel as though we would all get better sleep

I don’t really know what to do as me and my partner are EXHAUSTED

P.s she does nap through the day really well in her own bed so she is used to it

Baby slept all night

Sorry, I just need to post this... my little boy is 12w5d and he slept through from 9:30-6am, woke for a feed and went back to sleep until 8:30!!! I can't believe it. I was obviously up every few hours checking on him and making sure he was ok, so I didn't get a full nights sleep 🤣 but I'm so pleased for him! 🎉🥳 (not a brag btw, I'm just so pleased and wanted to share)

Colic Baby

Anyone else have a colic baby? If so how do you cope with it and get your sleep in? I’ve tried everything under the sun, on top of this he’s cluster feeding like hell.

🥲

Do any mums who breastfeed and co-sleep — especially once baby doesn’t really need night feeds — ever let their baby cry for a bit in the pram to fall asleep, just so you can have a few minutes to yourself?
A friend suggested this to me, but honestly it breaks my heart. I tried it once and it did work, but I’m not sure I could do it all the time. She’s a childcare teacher and said with sleep training you sometimes let them cry for up to 30 minutes… but I don’t know how people do it.
She also mentioned that a lot of mums here on the Gold Coast, Australia do it during the day when their baby’s tired — letting them fall asleep in the pram so they can have a coffee or catch up with friends without having to rush home for a nap.
I just feel like it might not be good for their nervous system and it doesn’t sit right with me… but then again, I’m also a first-time mum.
