Giving whole milk to toddler

Hi guys, would really be grateful for some advice. Lo is 15 months now and on the 2nd percentile. He was a reflux baby and I’ve noticed when he has yoghurt or cheese he vomits a tiny amount. I tried giving him whole milk to drink and the first time his poop was so mucusy and he had a sore bum 😞 is it bad that I don’t give him whole milk to drink throughout the day? I only nurse him before he goes to sleep. Everyone is telling me he should be having milk in addition to his meals and now I’m just worried I’m not doing right by him? Sorry for the long post x

Sounds like he may have a lactose issue, I would bring this up with the doctor and ask them to test for allergies.

If you don't introduce cows milk gradually into his diet it will change his poo drastically. I'm sure my HV said they need a certain amount of dairy throughout the day and milk can count towards that. Maybe best reaching out to your HV for advice

My little girl never took to cows milk she was also incredibly colicky and refluxy. We use aptamil 3 1+ toddler formula and she has diary in her diet with cheese and yoghurt. HV said it's absolutely fine xxx

Mine loves his milk but all babies are different and it sounds like there might be a lactose intolerance or something there. I’d check with the GP/ see if you can get a referral for some testing maybe. I have friends whose babies have a milk allergy and they just give alternative milk instead (like almond milk). They are supposed to get dairy in general though so if the issue is even with cheese, yogurt, etc. I’d get it checked out
