At least 10 not the full word, but he tries like when he wants down he knows how to point and he says da when he wants to go outside, he says out he can say bath ball bed, night night, dada mama up down outside no yes and he tries to say thank you he saysmeme for my mom he says hi bye-bye cuh for cup he says la for light he says fff for fan cah for car

He tries to say water he says whoa wow

3 words is the milestone and includes mama and dada. Apparently we're about to hit the language explosion in the next few months so while asking for help is never a bad idea, it's not inherently worrying yet 😊 There's also data that suggests boys do tend to say fewer words to start so try not to compare too much ♥️

Absolutely true at my sons check up a few weeks ago. They asked me if he was pointing to several body parts and could name them. I’m like he should be able to do that at 15 months? I was absolutely astonished. And he also tries to say bite which I just remembered as he’s attempting to bite my leg lol

@Katie I hope they meant recognize instead of name! Like head shoulders knees and toes is a bop but it's a hard one to master already!

I use the cdc milestone app to help track progress and make sure my little is not falling behind. Also comes in handy when my husband has to take the kids to the doctor for their check up I just send him the list and he gives it to the doctor.

My son is 15 months and the same. Not saying much. He was a nicu baby and has had a lot of ear infections. Pediatrician isn’t too concerned but I wanted to get early intervention so Im taking the step. Talk to your doc!

Just had my check up too at 15.3 weeks. My LO doesn’t say any words. Lots of Babbles, different sounds b, m, d, r but no words ! Docs bringing us back in a month for another check up and too see if any progress then to talk about speech therapy. He does know “sit down” (dangerous thang lol), high five, and “nose” but weve only ever practiced “nose and toes” cuz i thought they were cute. Dont do head, shoulders knees and toes often enoughhhhh. 🤷‍♀️ I feel like everyone is a little all over the place on if we should be concerned because he does HEAR and he Understands things, and makes noises. Just no desire to communicate yet?

I started writing down all the words mt son had ever said clearly and It came up to 22. However, there are not words he says daily and would say them randomly at times. The ones such ad apple, bubble, more, up, down etc, mama and a others I know he understands the meaning because he does the actions, he also points to items that he wants and says this a lot even for items which he knows how to say. This week I found out he knows head, shoulders knees and toes and the action to the wheels on the bus from his dayxare. But he's not a consistent talker and there are other kids at his day are who are younger than him who repeat any word ssid to them but he isn't like that. But i don't focus on it since each kid is different and go at their own pace. If you're concerned you can talk to your pediatrician. I really like the little talkers Instagram page as well. It allowed me to be more intentional about my interactions with him. a lot of the words my son knows came from watching ms Rachel

My daughter knows words and we know what she's saying but she cantbACTUALLY say them. She says that , stop(op) , no or unun, eat eat ,water(wow wow) pot pot, eyes, hair ,os for nose.
